Students to call long distance to the ISS
Washington (UPI) May 8, 2008 Students from New York and California will make a really long long-distance phone call next week to speak with an International Space Station's crew member. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration said students and educators from a Richmond Hill, N.Y., community center and the Valley Christian Elementary School in Bellflower, Calif., will participate in the Monday event from 12:20 p.m. to 12:40 p.m. EDT. During the event, the students and educators will chat with Expedition 17 astronaut Garrett Reisman. Both locations used NASA education resources to enhance their existing curriculum and worked together to develop a comprehensive education plan to compliment the down link. The down link will air live on NASA-TV and be streamed on the NASA Web site at http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/.
