US to seek extradition of Russian arms dealer: prosecutors

New York (AFP) March 6, 2008
The United States is to seek the extradition of fugitive Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, arrested in Bangkok and charged Thursday with conspiring to sell millions of dollars' worth of weapons.

"The US plans to pursue the extradition of Bout from Thailand," prosecutors said in a statement announcing charges against the Russian fugitive, accused of procuring surface-to-air missiles for Colombian FARC rebels.
